Homes For Heroes builds and directs Veterans’ Villages across Canada to address homelessness among our Veteran population. Our charity collaborates with Municipal, Provincial, and Federal stakeholders to secure sites and funding for the villages. Additionally, Homes For Heroes receives financial support from corporations, foundations, social groups and Canadians from coast to coast, to fund the construction, operations, and well being of our residents.

Tailored Support
CPKC Veteran Morale and Well Being Fund
The CPKC Veteran Morale and Well Being Fund provides direct financial support to help resident Veterans on their road to recovery. The fund covers essential expenses such as medical supplies and fees, prescriptions, transportation, employment training, and replacement identification. By offering housing with comprehensive social services, the Homes For Heroes Foundation is dedicated to supporting the overall well-being of the Veterans in its care.

Village Builds
With the support of local community partnerships and national backing, H4HF is able to build Veterans’ Villages. Donors can direct contributions to specific village construction projects, and opportunities exist for naming recognition for the village itself, as well as individual homes, the resource center, offices, gardens, and public areas.

Operational Support
Operational support is one of the most challenging aspects of fund development for Homes For Heroes as a registered charity. While all levels of government support the construction of our Veterans’ Villages, there are limited programs available to fund the critical services and operations at our villages. The Homes For Heroes program is tailored to each individual resident, and their journey through the program is unique, aligning with their personalized recovery timeline.
On average, each Veterans’ Village costs $25,000 per month to operate and maintain. Although Homes For Heroes Foundation proudly reports an 85% flow-through rate, it is difficult to fundraise for the essential fixed costs such as utilities, property maintenance, home repairs, landscaping, staff salaries, accounting, and legal fees. Working within an affordable housing charity requires personal sacrifices, but we have an incredibly dedicated team committed to supporting those who once stood on guard for Canada.
