Ben TeKamp

May 13, 1945 - October 12, 2014

Ben TeKamp touched the lives of many while serving three terms as Mayor of Brockville, as an Honorary Colonel of The Brockville Rifles and as a long-time member of The Brockville Rowing Club.  The latter was a particular passion of Ben’s. Joining as an athlete, he later became a coach and executive member of the Club. In addition to serving as President of both Row Ontario and Rowing Canada, he was a licensed international referee in the sport and officiated at two Olympics, many Pan Am Games, and numerous Championships.

A beloved public figure he was known for his sense of humour, work ethic and a caring commitment to his family, his friends and his community. Widely liked and respected, his compassion for others along with his insight, wisdom and thoughtfulness marked him as a gentleman who became a role model to many.

He is survived by his wife Cathy and children Robin and Mark.

This tiny home, which is dedicated to LCol Elmer Watson Jones, was donated by Anne and David Beatty in honour of their longtime friend, the late Ben TeKamp, who was also a resident of Brockville, Ontario.

Forever Remembered, Forever Honoured.
